Hello, snaghere is a cross platform application that regulates the relationship between Engineers, contractors, consultants, and employers when rectifying defects and non-conformances in a project.


In this tutorial, I will walk you through the steps required to create your first snag.

To start you need to create an account by either providing a username and password or by signing in with google.

Create a project:

From the main menu, click on Projects then click the Add snaghere projectbutton and fill the form with the project name then click Save snaghere Projecton the top right corner of the screen. You can later provide the project photo.

Create an Inspection Visit:

Having the project created, you can create a new inspection visit by clicking the button and filling out the form with inspection name, company.

If your company is not in the list of companies, you can create it by clicking the button on the top-right side of the selection form. See Create New Company below.

After save is completed, your company will be shown in the list of companies, click on it to select it.

Optionally, you can click to specify the time allowed for contractor and inspector to reply, time for reminder and time to escalate. This is optional, simply, because it is inherited from the application settings.

Having your Inspection Visit created and active, you can now create new snag or add members to the Inspection.

To edit the inspection visit, you should have admin privileges. From the main menu, click on projects, select the project containing the visit, then select the visit from the list presented, then click on the visit icon

Adding a member to the Inspection Visit.

By default, you are added to the inspection visit as a creator, inspector, member. I will show you later how you change that.

To add a member click add member icon and fill the member form with email, name, role, and company.  If the member company is not listed, you can create a new one. See Create New Company .

To set the role of the new member click on the roles field.

You will be presented with the list of roles that the member may have. The list of roles is self-explanatory as each role have a clear description.

Find below a sample of a filled member form.

Once the form is filled, click on the button to complete the addition of member.

Edit Inspection Visit Member:

By clicking on the member avatar, the member form will open. Note that not all fields are editable.

You can choose to resend the invitation email to the member by selecting resend invitation white editing the member form.

To remove a member from the inspection visit, click the x sign on the member tile.

Create a New Snag

Having a project, inspection visit and members, you can now start collecting snags. Or you can add new inspectors to the visit and have them collect snags as well.

To create a new snag, click the plus sign at the right bottom of the screen and fill the snag form with:

The contractor Member:

Click on the contractor field to open the members list. If contractor is not in the list, you can always create a new contractor member by clicking the plus sign on the top right of the form.

The Location:

The location is a tree that contains the available locations in the visit. To create a new location, type the location in the location field and press enter or comma to add. Or press on add location button after each editing. When the location is selected, click the select button on the top right corner of the form.

The comments:

The comments that you have on the collected snag

The Attachments.

Click on the plus sign in the bottom left of the form and select the type of attachment you want to add to the snag. You can use the device camera or gallery to upload a photo or device storage to upload a document.

Division / Subject:

Optionally, you can add a division and a subject to the snag by clicking the Subject / Division link.

Execution Times:

Clicking Show Times. This item is optional as it is inherited from Inspection Visit Properties'

When done simply click save. The application will work in the background allowing you to start creation of another defect / snag.


Create New Company:

When selecting a company and you cant find the company you need in the list, you can create a new company by clicking the plus sign.

The company form allows you to add a company logo by clicking the sign at the top of the form. To save your changes, click on button on the top right corner of the form.

If you are the company created, you can edit the company whenever the list of companies is presented to you.

To edit a particular company, you can click on add user to visit button then click on company field. The list of companies known to you will be presented in a list. If you see the edit button on the right side of the company tile, then you have the capacity to edit this company.

States:

Snags has states. When the snag is created, its state remains draft until it is posted.

The snag can be posted after clicking save. Click on the sang and then click post

When posted, an email is sent to the contractor specified in the snag, and the state of the snag becomes in progress.

To reply to a snag, slide the snag tile right then click open. If you are the contractor, two options will be presented to you, Resolution and Challenge.

To create a resolution, click the resolution button and fill in the comments and attachments. click save, then post. the state of the snag state will become "Resolved" and an email will be sent to the inspector that the state has changed

To create a challenge, follow the same procedure as to create a resolution except that you need to click the Challenge button instead of Resolution.

Once the snag is resolve or challenged, the inspector shall after reviewing accept or reject the reply of the contractor. This can be done by clicking on the accept button or add comments button then follow the same procedure as to create a resolution.

In case the contractors reply was rejected, the snag state will become in progress.

In case the contractors reply was accepted, the snag status will become completed.

Once all snags are completed, the inspection visit can be considered completed unless new snags are added.

Deactivate a Visit:

To deactivate a visit, from the main menu, click projects, select the project containing the visit, click on the active button to make it inactive. This can be undone by clicking the same button again.
